BY BANK TRANSFER TO THE BRTA BANK ACCOUNTMost clubs
are now taking advantage of the ability to make payments via
direct bank transfers to the BRTA bank account. If you wish to use this payment method,
would you please note that it is ESSENTIAL
to include a description
with the bank transfer or direct deposit so that it can be identified on the BRTA's bank
statement. The description must
(1) THE NAME OF THE CLUB
(abbreviated if necessary but must uniquely
identify the club), and
(2) what the payment is for, for example team fees or an invoice number.
There have been several bank tranfers which have had
inadequate descriptions or no descriptions. Please be careful with
abbreviations, and be aware that a description such as "ATC", "CTC"
or "CPTC" etc may not uniquely identify a club. Any
amounts which cannot be uniquely identified will be held in a separate suspense account
within the BRTA accounting system.

ADVERSE WEATHER BY-LAW
The paragraph in
By-Law 12 regarding adverse weather was amended at a Special General
Meeting held on 17th October 2011. The amended wording is as follows:
"In the case of wet
days, the away team Captain may contact the home team Captain or
authorised representative of the home club, to determine if their courts
are playable that day. If both Captains agree to abandon play for the day,
the home team will advise the Association that the game was a washout and
points will be divided equally between both teams."
Under the previous wording,
both teams were required to attend at the venue, and play could not be
abandoned until 60 minutes after the stipulated starting time.
The amended by-law is
effective immediately. Note that the visiting team should not contact the
home team until 1 (one) hour before the starting time of the match.
